IK Animation

For the animations in Takowana County, we are utilizing IK animation. Above is our first pass creature's whitebox walk cycle. This style of animation will also be seen in our 1st person hands. It speeds up our animator's workflow to such a degree that when she tried animating with a normal FK rig, this quadrupedal walk cycle took her two hours. With the IK system, the same animation took 20 minutes.
We are still in whitebox stages for animations but are quickly moving forward. For our submission at the end of the semester in a few weeks, we have a scripted encounter with the creature in the pipeline that will serve as the climax of the vertical slice. Our animator is hard at work getting through the animations, which we can hook into the polished model and rig next semester.
